It was Samantha's first firework show and she didn't know quite what to think of it, he he he. She never cried but we couldn't quite get her to smile either. :)
Just us.
On Saturday we went fourwheeling up Hyrum Canyon (I think) and this was where we set up camp. The wildflowers were beautiful but I think Samantha makes the picture :)
You can't see it in the picture, but we are covered from head to toe in dust! It was a dry, hot day and the road was unforgiving as far as dust goes. It was a blast though!
This is how I felt at the end of the day..... lucky girl, she got a nap!
On Monday, my mom, Devin and Torie came down so we could take them up American Fork Canyon to Silver Lake because my mom said all she wanted to do was sit by a lake and relax...... so that is what we did! It was a cloudy, almost cold, day but ended up being perfect for what we wanted to do.
This was our view to the north.
Our view across.
And our view to the south (This i actually the back side of Timp.- still lots of snow!)
Thomas, wishing he had brought his fishing pole....... :)
Chillin by the lake...... not quite sure what Thomas was doing.... he he he he. We were the only ones on this side of the lake, so it was very peaceful.
After a few hours by the lake, and scaring every fish in our vicinity away because of our "potato" rock throwing skills, we decided to head over the Cascade Springs, which is actually closer to Heber than it is to American Fork. It was beautiful!
This is where the springs begin. We actually walked on the hillside just above this flat and it was completely dry.
After our trip up the canyon, we went and saw Transformers 3 and got out of the movie just in time to see a fireworks show right by the theater. What was crazy was all of the residential fireworks going off. This is the first year since I can remember that they have allowed aerial fireworks in Utah and some people went crazy with them! We saw a house where they shot off at least 50 of these fireworks..... and they are expensive! Maybe it was group of people, but they were going off all over the valley for at least and hour. Can you say "moneymaker"?!Anyway, like I said earlier, it was a fun-filled weekend and the perfect end to our busy fun-filled month. Thanks to all our family who made it that way for us! Maybe now I will have time to do some of my summer task list...... ha yeah right! So long for now :)
